Eight Razorbacks to Compete in ITA All-American Championships

Arkansas men’s tennis is heading to the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa to compete in the annual ITA All-American Championships beginning Saturday. Six Razorbacks will represent Arkansas in the singles draw while the Hogs will showcase three teams in the doubles bracket.

Alex Reco and Nico Rousset are fresh off a main-draw doubles title at the ITF World Tour 15K in Fayetteville last week and will look to keep the hot streak going in Tulsa. Razorbacks Melvin Manuel and Adrien Burdet as well as Hunter Harrison and Avery Zavala will join Rico and Rousset in the qualifying draw of the doubles bracket.

Manuel and Harrison, along with Hogs Aleksa Bucan and Oscar Pinto, will begin their singles quest on Saturday in the pre-qualifying rounds. Rousset is slated to compete in the qualifying section of the singles bracket.

Reco has proven himself as a top collegiate player this fall, coming off of a doubles title with Rousset Sept. 26 and a trip to the singles final in Plaisir, France, at the beginning of September. Reco was awarded a wild card to the singles main draw and will need to win seven matches to claim the championship.
