The Frank O’Mara Track & Field High Performance Center brings a myriad of facilities in one unique structure on the south end of John McDonnell Field. A ceremony was held in September 2021 to officially open the facility, which is named after three-time Olympian and University of Arkansas alumni Frank O’Mara.
The proximity of the O’Mara Performance Center to John McDonnell Field is an impressive asset. Within the new structure, which offers a view of the track and field venue from the north façade with a continuous ribbon of glass, are locker rooms for the men’s and women’s track and field teams, a student-athlete lounge, hydrotherapy, training room, and weight room.
A hallway within building pays homage to the student-athletes who established Arkansas as the Track Capital of the World. Within the corridor numerous Olympians, World Championship finalists, NCAA Champions, and record breakers are featured.
