Gomez Alonso Advances to ITA All-American Quarterfinals

CARY, N.C. – Carolina Gomez Alonso continued play today in the Round of 16 of the singles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships. The sophomore punched her ticket to the Quarterfinals after her second straight win over an ITA top-50 ranked opponent, continuing her week of tremendous success on the court.

Gomez Alonso squared off against No. 44 Casie Wooten (Wake Forest) and cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory to advance to the Quarterfinals in Cary. In the previous round, Gomez Alonso defeated No. 15 Jaedan Brown (Michigan) in three sets.

Gomez Alonso moves on to face No. 3 Alexa Noel of Miami (FL) in the Quarterfinals at 9 a.m. CT.
