Gomez-Alonso Set to Compete at ITA Fall National Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman Carolina Gomez-Alonso continues her fall season as she heads to San Diego, Calif. to compete in the ITA Fall National Championships held Nov. 2-6 at the Barnes Tennis Center.

The Championships are the grand finale to the fall collegiate tennis season and feature 64 of the nation’s top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men’s team and 32 women’s teams). The event is in its fifth year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships beginning in 2017.

At the ITA Central Regional Championships last month, Gomez-Alonso became the first Arkansas player to win the singles title since 2010 to earn her spot in the fall championships.  The Razorbacks have had two ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships when Aurelija Miseviciute won the event in back-to-back years in 2007 and 2008.

Gomez-Alonso’s road to the championship begins on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 12:45 p.m. CT as she faces Virginia’s Julia Adams in the first round of the singles draw.

All of the action from the 2022 ITA National Fall Championships will be streamed on the Cracked Racquets YouTube Page from the first serve until the last. Links to the live streams can be found on the National Fall Championships Event Page.
