Gwin Named SEC Freshman of the Week
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas forward MacKenzie Gwin was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after her game-winning goal against Florida on Sunday, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
The matchup with the Gators was headed for a 1-1 draw with under 30 seconds to play until Gwin made an impressive run into the 18-yard box and scored the winner with 6 seconds left.
The Camarillo, California native was the league’s only freshman to score a game-winner this week, and it was her first.
Gwin is Arkansas’ first SEC Freshman of the Week since Vailana Tu’ua won the award in September of 2025.
The Hogs will close out the regular season with a pair of road matches at Oklahoma (10/24) and at Kentucky (11/1).
