Herron, Hogs Explode to 9-0 Win Over Northern Iowa in Razorback Rumble Finale
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Behind LHP Robyn Herron’s two-hit shutout, the No. 20 Arkansas Razorbacks throttled Northern Iowa 9-0 in six innings to cap the Razorback Rumble at Bogle Park Sunday.
Arkansas improves to 20-5 overall heading into conference play next weekend. The Razorbacks are 13-3 at home this season.
Hurling her third double-digit strikeout outing of the year, Herron punched out 10 batters and restrained Northern Iowa to two hits across six innings. The Tampa native only allowed one walk and retired 18 of 23 batters faced.
Arkansas hammered nine hits for nine runs, including two homers, vs. the Panthers. The Razorbacks scored early and often as they plated seven of nine runs in the first two innings.
Four Razorbacks broke out with multi-hit performances. Adding to her breakout freshman season, Kennedy Miller went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored, including a two-run walk-off home run. Bri Ellis had a 2-for-3 day with two runs scored and an RBI. Hannah Camenzind finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Nia Carter burst for a two-hit day. Hannah Gammill slammed her sixth home run of the season – a three-run shot – in the second.
