Higginbottom Scores 27 in Arkansas' Loss to Oral Roberts

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s basketball fell to 3-3 on the season after a 94-73 loss to Oral Roberts on Thursday night at Bud Walton Arena.

Senior guard Izzy Higginbottom led all scorers with 27 points, two shy of her season-high of 29. The Batesville, Arkansas native went a season-high 13 for 15 from the charity stripe and is shooting 90% from the line through six games to lead the Razorbacks.

Kiki Smith, the only other Hog in double figures, had 20 points and netted four of Arkansas’ eight three pointers. Smith and Higginbottom combined for 64% of the Hogs offense.

After the Razorbacks opened the game via a Jenna Lawrence three-pointer, the Golden Eagles took control of the game and never allowed Arkansas to punch back with a run of its own.

ORU finished with three players with at least 20 points: Emily Robinson (20), Taleyah Jones (23) and Jalei Oglesby (23). The visitors also shot a season-high 37% (10-27) from beyond the arc.
