Hogs Bounce Back on Day Two, Sit in Fourth

RIO GRANDE, PUERTO RICO – The No. 3 Arkansas women’s golf team bounced back in a big way this morning, climbing the leaderboard and now sitting in fourth. Arkansas finished the second round with a 3-under 285. In this five-count-four format, each Hog golfer counting toward the score, were at par or better in this round of 18 holes. Arkansas had the lowest score in the field today by two strokes. LSU continues to pace the field after round two with a 4-under 572.

Kendall Todd was able to continue her momentum from the first round of play, finishing today’s round at 2–under par, shooting a 70. This continued success leaves her tied for eighth place, going into the last round of play. Todd’s play was highlighted by four birdies.

Playing as an individual, Ela Anacona was also able to stay on track today, shooting 1–under 71, and sitting at a tie for 13th. With a bogeyless front nine, she was able to withstand a few hard holes toward the end to remain under par.

Reagan Zibilski was not too far behind Anacona, as she finished today’s round with four birdies, keeping her score even with par for the round. Zibilski moved up five spots in the leaderboard, to tie for 15th, sitting at a 144 for the first two rounds.

Maria Jose Marin was able to get back to her best, as she moved up 25 spots in the leaderboard, finishing in a tie for 40th. After struggling in the first round, Jose Marin was able to keep her bogey tally to just two, while having 13 pars to leave her sitting at 1–under 71 for the second round.

Miriam Ayora finished today sitting even on par, after a 2 – over 74 showing on Sunday. Ayora only had two bogeys throughout the round until the last hole where she ended with a double-bogey.

Kajal Mistry inched up the leaderboard today, going up two spots. She ended the day with five bogey’s and two birdies.

UP NEXT

The Hogs will play in the final round of the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, Tuesday, Feb. 6 with a 5:30 a.m. CT shotgun start.  Arkansas will then return home for a few weeks before traveling to Melbourne, Florida for the Moon Golf Invitational.
