Hogs Clear the First Cut at NCAA Championship by 15 Strokes

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Razorback women’s golf team shot a 3-under 285 in the third round to easily make the top 15 and advance to Monday’s final round of stroke play.

Sunday’s cutline was 12-over. The projected cutline for the top eight teams to advance to match play is 2-over.

The Hogs teed off from No. 10 on Sunday and were 6-under through the first four holes with a pair of birdies on 10 and three birdies on the par-3 12th hole.

Senior Reagan Zibilski (T18, -3) led the Hogs on day three and bounced back after a 74 on Saturday with her lowest career NCAA Championship round, a bogey-free 68. Zibilski jumped 20 spots up the leaderboard to move inside the top 20 with 18 holes to go.

Defending champion Maria Jose Marin (T13, -5) dropped out of the top 10 after carding a 71 on Sunday. The junior was 2-under with three holes to play but bogeyed the par-4 seventh, the hardest hole on the course through 54 holes.

Freshman Sara Brentcheneff (T44, +2) led the Razorbacks early with three straight birdies to start her round but picked up a pair of double bogeys to shoot even and remain at 2-over for the tournament.

Freshman Swetha Sathish counted for the second day in a row with a 2-over 74.

The Hogs slipped to 1-under with four holes to go but birdies from Zibilski and Sathish on No. 9 pushed them back to 3-under and into the top 5 tied with Iowa State (T5, -3).

Arkansas will tee off the final round at 1:25 p.m. CT off the first hole alongside Texas (4th, -6) and the Cyclones.

Stanford leads by five strokes at 21-under. The Longhorns’ Farah O’Keefe and USC’s Catherine Park share the individual lead at 10-under.
