Hogs Close Out Non-Con Slate in Jonesboro

The Volley Hogs finish out the non-conference portion of their schedule this weekend in friendly confines, as the Razorbacks head east to Jonesboro for two matches against Arkansas State and Illinois.

Action in the A-State Invitational begins on Friday night for the Hogs, against the host Red Wolves at First National Bank Arena. The match will mark just the second time ever that the teams have met, and the first time in Jonesboro. The Red Wolves won the first match in 2025, 3-1, in Fayetteville.

Arkansas State is coming off an impressive run last season that culminated in a Sun Belt Tournament title and a berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Red Wolves head into the weekend with a 4-5 record, but two of those losses came at the hands of SEC squads, Texas A&M and Mizzou.

First serve in Friday’s historic match is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Hogs conclude their weekend on Saturday against Illinois, the first time in 10 years facing off against the Illini. Arkansas trails in the all-time series with Illinois, 1-3.

The Fighting Illini are currently 6-3 on the season, including a 3-1 midweek victory against Eastern Illinois on Wednesday. The Hogs will look to get their first win over a Big Ten opponent since 2024 after they went 0-2 versus Rutgers and Maryland in this year’s Big Ten/SEC Challenge.

Saturday’s match will not be streamed, but play-by-play updates will be accessible via StatBroadcast.
