
Hogs Defeat Mississippi State 4-1 to Finish Regular Season
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas women’s tennis team (5-17, 2-13) finished its 2025 regular season with a 4-1 win over Mississippi State (10-15, 0-15 Sunday afternoon at Billingsley Tennis Center.
In doubles play, the Bulldogs took the early advantage after a victory on court two, as Alessia Tagliente and Carolina Troiano defeated Anet Koskel and Grace O’Donnell, 6-3. The Razorbacks responded with a win on court one, with No. 56 Olga Bienzobas and Carolina Gomez grabbing a 6-3 ranked win against No. 46 Gianna Oboniye and Athina Pitts. The doubles point came down to court three as Jayna Clemens and Chiara Di Genova triumphed over Jimena Gomez and Katarina Pavlechova, 6-2.
No. 73 C. Gomez picked up her sixth victory of the spring after cruising to a 6-3, 6-2 win against Gianna Oboniye at the top spot. J. Gomez followed with a dominant victory over Pitts on court six, 7-5, 6-2.
Bienzobas collected her fifth dual win of the year to push the lead further for the Hogs with a 7-6 (4), 7-6 (8) victory at the No. 2 position. Anet Koskel clinched the match for Arkansas after rebounding from a first-set defeat to force a third set, ultimately besting Di Genova, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
The Hogs will travel to Auburn, Ala. for the SEC Women’s Tennis Tournament from April 16-20. The bracket for the tournament will be released soon.
