Hogs Drop Season Opener to Baylor, 4-1

FAYETTEVILLE –The Razorbacks (0-1-0) fell behind 4-0 to Baylor (1-0-0) with 20 minutes to play, but managed to get one goal across to avoid a shutout on opening night.

The Bears opened the scoring in the 16th minute after sophomore defender Presley Marvil committed a foul inside the penalty box. Baylor forward Lauren Omholt converted from the spot with a shot tucked inside the right post past goalkeeper Keegan Smith.

The first half ended with Baylor ahead in shots, 4-3, and each team had one save.

The eventual game-winner for the Bears came 10 minutes into the second half from forward Callie Conrad, followed by goals in the 64th and 66th minutes via midfielders Olivia Hess and Noelle Sather.

Arkansas avoided the shutout in the 68th minute on a corner kick. Freshman midfielder Jordan Bryant took the kick that found the head of junior midfielder Aniyah Nurse-Whyte on the back post.

Baylor finished ahead in shots, 15-7, and forced Smith to make six saves.
