Hogs Move Into Top 5 After 36 Holes at Seminole Intercollegiate
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 9 Arkansas finished the 36-hole day even par after improving by 14 strokes in the second round at the 14-team Seminole Intercollegiate, played at Seminole Legacy Golf Club (Par 72, 7,505 yards).
The Razorbacks have three Hogs within the top 25 of the event’s leaderboard: Jacob Skov Olesen (T-2nd), John Driscoll III (T-8th) and Manuel Lozada (T-21st).
Olesen currently sits T-2nd and two shots off the lead after posting a 65, the second-best score of the second round. Olesen bogeyed two of his last three holes to close out his first 18 then fired off four straight birdies to start the second round. Olesen collected three birdies on the back nine to finish -7 for the round. His 12 birdies through 36 holes lead the field. Florida State’s Luke Clanton sits atop the leaderboard at -9.
Driscoll (T-8th, -2) matched his first-round score of 71 on the second 18 and tallied six birdies on the day. The graduate will look to record his second top-10 finish of the spring.
Lozada bounced back from a double-bogey on the first 18 and posted a one-under-par 71 to close out the day, putting him 14 places ahead of where he started the second round.
John Daly II (T-43rd, +6) showed the most improvement on the day and rose 27 spots on the leaderboard after posting a second-round 71, eight strokes better than his opening-round score of 79.
The Hogs sit in fourth behind hosts No. 12 Florida State (1st, -11), No. 7 Ole Miss (2nd, -11), and VCU (3rd, -3).
Arkansas will close out the event tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12, with the first Razorback, Mateo Pulcini, set to tee off at 8:50 a.m. ET.
