Hogs Swept by No. 4 Gators Sunday Afternoon
Arkansas hung tough and made some big in-set comebacks against No. 4 Florida on Sunday but were defeated by the Gators in three sets in Gainesville (22-25, 20-25, 23-25).
Sophomore Parker Duncan had a nice performance on the day with 14 kills, the most for either team, and only four errors for a .357 hitting percentage.
In the back row, freshman libero Madi Benne notched 13 digs, which officially put her over 250 total in her young career. Junior setter Kiki Remensperger also hit a milestone on the day. Her 30 assists were enough to help her eclipse 2,000, which also puts her in ninth all-time in program history.
Remensperger and former Gator Gaby Cornier combined for Arkansas’ five aces on the day – Remensperger with three and Cornier with two.
The Hogs drop to 3-8 in SEC play and are 11-11 overall in 2026 with four regular season matches remaining.
Set 1
Florida started the match hot with a blistering 7-0 run, a hole that was going to be difficult for the Hogs to get out of. Arkansas managed to find a little bit more rhythm as the set went on but couldn’t generate any lasting runs as the home team held a 15-9 lead at the technical timeout. Three kills from Duncan and a Florida error brought Arkansas within four at 18-14 and the Hogs kept chipping away. The Razorbacks spoiled set point for the Gators three times, including two aces from Gaby Cornier, but ultimately, they ran out of time as Florida took the opener, 25-22.
Set 2
Again, the Gators came out swinging big as they started the second set on a 7-1 run, which prompted an Arkansas timeout. The Hogs added four points but couldn’t get going for more than a couple at a time as Florida kept adding to its lead, which stood at 15-6 at the media timeout. The Razorbacks responded with a 3-0 run, but a service error ended it before Arkansas could significantly cut into the deficit. A pair of kills from Aleki Alexander put the Razorbacks within five at 19-14, and Arkansas turned up the tempo from there. A 4-0 run that featured a solo block from Duncan and two aces from Remensperger made it 22-19 Florida, and the Gators called time. It was what they needed to carry through to the end, and the home team won the second 25-20.
Set 3
The third set was more of the same as the Gators began on a big scoring run. It didn’t last as long as the previous sets though, and Duncan pulled the Hogs within one at 4-3 with a kill. Romani Thurman got a kill off hands, awarded to Arkansas via a challenge by Watson, and it was tied at 5-all. The Gators then settled in and a 5-0 run put them over double digits at 10-5, at which point the Razorbacks huddled. Arkansas then rattled off a 7-3 lead, capped off by back-to-back kills from Duncan, and was down only one at 14-13. The Hogs kept fighting, but the home team hit 20 points first and it was crunch time for Arkansas. A pair of points with a solo block from Smith made it 22-21 Florida, and the Gators called time. The Hogs tied it out of the break, but a service error gave the lead back to the Gators. Laurendine then tied it again, but Florida won the battle for a close 25-23 third set victory and match sweep.
