J-Mee Samuels Earns SEC Weekly Accolade

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas sophomore J-Mee Samuels has been named the SEC runner of the week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Samuels has earned the weekly award for the first time in his young Razorback career.

Samuels won the 60-meter dash with a personal-best clocking of 6.69. The time replaces his previous personal best of 6.70 set at the 2005 Nike Indoor Nationals. His time of 6.69, also a provisional-qualifying mark, is currently the best time run so far in the SEC and in the nation. His speedy 6.69 also sits at No. 3 on the Arkansas all-time top-10 list.

Arkansas track and field returns to the track Fri., Jan. 19, for the two-day Razorback Invitational.
