Jianna Morris Signs With Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s basketball added its second transfer with the signing of former Louisiana Tech guard Jianna Morris on Thursday.
The Sherwood, Arkansas, native was a Conference USA second team selection last season and averaged 11.2 points and 2.4 rebounds while leading the Lady Techsters with 81 three-pointers.
She will have one year of eligibility remaining.

2025-26: Started all 33 games with 1131 minutes … Ranks No. 6 minutes in a season in program history, No. 2 by a junior … Led team with 81 3-pointers … Ranks No. 3 in 3-pointers in a season by a Lady Techster, No. 1 by a junior … Made a 3-pointer in every game during the regular season … One of three players in the country to make a 3-pointer in every game and average 2.7 3-pointers made … Scored in double-figures 23 times, including a career high 21 against UTEP (2/5) … Made five 3-pointers three times, tying a career high … Led LA Tech in scoring five times and in assists twice.
2024-25: Started in all 31 games played in with 1,052 minutes …. Ranks No. 4 in free throws attempted (153), No. 3 in free throws made (120), No. 2 in 3-pointers attempted (149), No. 3 in 3-pointers made (52) and No. 4 in minutes played (1,052) for a sophomore at LA Tech … Third on the team with 11.5 points and 1.8 assists a game … Scored a season high 20 points against South Alabama (11/7), NM State (3/6), and UTEP (3/8) … Recorded 20 games of double figure scoring … Recorded five assists against LSU-Alexandria (12/30) and UTEP (1/2) … Set a career-high seven rebounds against UT Arlington (11/10) … Hit a career best five 3-pointers against NM State (3/6) … Set a career-high four steals against Southeastern (11/23).
2023-24: Started all 33 games at point guard … Played the second most minutes by a freshman in program history at 1,052 minutes … Averaged 7.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists a game … Named to the CUSA All-Freshman Team … Finished her freshman campaign with 232 points, 107 boards, and 72 assists … Earned CUSA Freshman of the week with 10 points five boards, and two assists against Abilene Christian (12/30) … Named CUSA Freshman of the Week for the second time after scoring 17 points, grabbing four rebounds, and dishing out five assists to lead Tech to a 2-0 week (2/26) … Scored in double figures 10 times … Scored a season-high 17 points against New Mexico State (1/27) while adding five rebounds … Grabbed a season-high six rebounds on three occasions, UTEP (1/25), NM State (1/27), and Western Kentucky (2/7) … Shot 32.8% from the field and 77.6% from the free-throw line.
HIGH SCHOOL: Morris is a four-time All-Conference and All-State performer out of Sherwood, Ark. for Coach Shelley Davis and Sylvan Hills High School … Morris is a member of the Sylvan Hills’ 1,000-point club and is the all-time scorer in program history She averaged 22 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per contest during her senior season … She has earned invites to the John Lucan Top 160 Camp each of the last two seasons and also attended the John Wooten Top 150 Camp … She was named a McDonald’s All-American nominee and the Arkansas All-Star game Most Outstanding Player … During her junior season, Morris averaged 20 points, 5.4 rebounds, four assists, and 1.8 steals last season for Sylvan Hills and was named the Arkansas Female Athlete of the Week … Morris played AAU for Bounce Nation out of Memphis for Coach Mark Hearns and has also lettered the last three seasons in softball … She was also a member of the National Honor Society and was the top-ranked student in her 2023 graduating class.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Darryl and Phyllis Morris … She was born on May 10, 2005 in Omaha, Neb. … She graduated from Sylvan Hills HS in 2023 … She has two siblings, Corey Armstrong and Nikia Thompson.
