Mallett honored by SEC

FAYETTEVILLE — For the second time in three weeks, University of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett has been selected as the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Mallett became the only quarterback to receive the honor twice this year with his effort in UA’s 42-21 victory over Mississippi State last Saturday.

Against the Bulldogs, Mallett threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns. He matched his own school record for touchdown passes in a single game with five. He also set school marks for touchdown passes in a season (28) and touchdown responsibility in a season (30). Mallett has now set or matched 12 different school records in his 11 games as a Razorback. Three of Mallett’s five touchdown passes were from long distances (39 yards to Joe Adams and 58 and 64 yards to Cobi Hamilton). Mallett completed passes to nine different receivers with four different receivers catching touchdown passes.
