Manuel Falls Just Short of Finals at ITA Regional Championships

STILLWATER, Okla. – Senior Melvin Manuel concluded his run at the ITA Central Region Championships today as he fell in the Semifinals of the singles main draw in three sets.

Manuel’s impressive run came to an end after winning his first four singles matches. Manuel went up against top-seeded Tyler Zink (Oklahoma State), dropping the first set, 2-6. Manuel rallied to win the second set, 7-5, before falling in the final set to Zink. For the tournament, Manuel picked up six total victories between singles and doubles play.

Members of the Arkansas men’s tennis team will continue the fall season as they return home next week for the USTA 15K Fayetteville Futures from October 30-November 5.
