Men's Tennis back to host pair of matches with No. 5 Baylor, Omaha

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis squad will be back to host a pair of matches against No. 5 Baylor (5-0) and the Omaha Mavericks (0-2) on Saturday, Feb. 1. First serve at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center against Baylor is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and the start time for Omaha is to be assigned.

Baylor comes to Fayetteville with a perfect 5-0 record and fresh off a pair of wins that sent the Bears to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. BU downed Gonzaga 4-0 and then advanced with a 4-1 win over Louisville. Matias Soto is 3-0 at the No. 1 spot during the dual season while Finn Bass and Sven Lah have racked up the most wins on the team with five.

Omaha is coming off a pair of losses at Wichita Stata and Iowa the past two weeks. Abdoul Ouattara is the lone Maverick with a singles win during the dual season.

Last Time Out

The Razorbacks opened the season with a 4-1 win over the Drake Bulldogs on Saturday, Jan. 25. After dropping the doubles point the Razorbacks went on to tally four straight-set wins. The Hogs later fell to Middle Tennessee and Wichita State, but Alex Reco (3-0) and Enrique Paya (2-0) went undefeated in singles action during the weekend.
