Men's Tennis Headed to Fort Worth for NCAA Tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team is making its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and the first under second-year head coach Jay Udwadia. The No. 30 Razorbacks will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to face Cornell in the First Round on Friday, May 3.

The Hogs are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021 and are 21-11 overall with a 5-7 record in conference play this season. Arkansas produced its best single-season turnaround since 2015-16 after a nine-win improvement from 2023 and its 21 victories are the most in a season since 1986.

The Razorbacks have earned twelve wins over top-75 opponents this year, including a streak of five straight ranked victories earlier this season with three coming against top-25 foes. The Hogs have one nationally ranked singles player in No. 95 Gerard Planelles Ripoll and the duo of Božo Barun and Jared Horwood are ranked No. 32 in the latest ITA doubles rankings.

For the third consecutive appearance, Arkansas will compete in the Fort Worth regional while playing its second match ever against Cornell. The Razorbacks and Big Red last faced off in 2019, a 4-3 win for the Hogs in Columbus, Ohio.

First- and second-round action takes place May 3-4 and features four teams playing in a single-elimination format. The winner of each regional advances to the Super Regionals on May 10 or 11 with each winner moving on to the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla., where the final eight teams will compete for the national championship from May 16-19.

The NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships selections will be revealed tomorrow, April 30, at 5 p.m. CT on NCAA.com.
