Michael Coe to Transfer to Alabama State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas cornerback Michael Coe has decided to transfer to Alabama State to finish his collegiate football career it was announced by UA head coach Houston Nutt on Tuesday.

Coe will transfer to the university and play for his father, Charles Coe, the head coach at the Division I-AA school located in Montgomery, Ala. The senior from Memphis, Tenn., will have one year of eligibility remaining.

“Michael has decided to play his final season at Alabama State,” Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said. “We appreciate his efforts as a Razorback. We would’ve liked him to play his senior season with us, but we respect his decision to play for his father. Michael is a quality young man that already has earned his degree. We wish him the best.”

Coe played in all 11 games last season tallying 31 tackles, including one tackle for loss (-1). He tied for second on the team with three interceptions (25 yards) and earned eight pass break-ups and one forced fumble. A three-year letterman, Coe garnered a total of 59 tackles and five interceptions as a Razorback.
