No. 12 Women's Golf Set for Blessings Collegiate Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE – No. 12 Arkansas women’s golf continues its season at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational at Blessings Golf Club (Par 72) from Oct. 3-5 in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks look to win their first event of the 2026-27 season after a fourth-place finish at the Cougar Classic in September.

Arkansas won last year’s Blessings Collegiate for the third straight year and fifth time overall. Maria Jose Marin finished runner-up at 12-under and led the Hogs to a 36-stroke victory.

The Hogs’ lineup of Sara Brentcheneff, Marin, Abbey Schutte, Ebba Liljeberg and Swetha Sathish tees off from No. 1 starting at 8:25 a.m. The pair of individuals, Natalie Blonien and Melliyal Schmitt, tees off at 8:15 a.m.

Format

All eight teams will play 18 holes on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Live scoring is available on scoreboard.clippd.com.

Arkansas has won five team titles (2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025) and four individual titles (2020, 2021 | Brooke Matthews and 2023, 2024 | Maria Jose Marin).

The Hogs hold tournament records for lowest 18-hole score in both team (2024 | 279, -9) and individual categories (2025 | Maria Jose Marin, 64 2025) and Arkansas holds the 54-hole score record at 12-under (2024).

Historic Season

Arkansas is coming off its deepest postseason run in program history, an NCAA Championship semifinal appearance.

High on the Hogs

The Hogs were ranked inside the top five in both preseason rankings: No. 4 in Golfweek’s top 30 and No. 5 in Golf Channel’s top 30.

Preseason Honors

Two Razorbacks earned preseason All-America honors from Golf Channel and Golfweek. Senior Maria Jose Marin was placed on both outlets’ first team, while sophomore Sara Brentcheneff was a member of the third team.

Marin was also placed on the ANNIKA Award’s preseason watch list for the third straight season.

The Returners (2025-26 Scoreboard Ranking)

Arkansas returns four of its starting five from last season: senior Maria Jose Marin (2), senior Abbey Schutte (58), sophomore Sara Brentcheneff (69) and sophomore Swetha Sathish (283). Also returning is junior Natalie Blonien, who appeared in both of the Razorbacks’ matches at the NCAA Championship, and sophomore Sofia Cherif Essakali.

The Newcomers

In the offseason, the Hogs brought in Ebba Liljeberg, the top player in the transfer portal. Liljeberg earned freshman All-American honors in her debut season at Missouri and finished the season ranked No. 66 in Scoreboard’s national player ranking.

Arkansas brought in one freshman: Melliyal Schmitt of Reunion Island.
