No. 18 Gomez Alonso Falls in Round of 64 at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – No. 18 Carolina Gomez Alonso concluded her first round match of the singles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday at Cary Tennis Park.

Gomez Alonso entered the draw as the No. 15 seed and faced No. 81 Catherine Aulia (Tennessee) in the Round of 64. Gomez Alonso claimed the first set 6-3 while Aulia came back to take the second set, 7-6 (4). In the final set, Aulia grabbed the early lead en route to securing the match after a 6-1 victory in the third set.

Gomez Alonso is set to face Kate Fakih (UCLA) in the consolation draw tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. CT.
