No. 18 Gomez Alonso's Run Ends at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – No. 18 Carolina Gomez Alonso concluded play at the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday after falling in the singles consolation Round of 16.

Gomez Alonso advanced to the consolation Round of 16 after two ranked wins yesterday and faced No. 55 Piper Charney (Michigan) for a spot in the quarterfinals. Charney took the first set 6-2 before closing out the match with a 6-1 victory in the second set. Gomez Alonso’s run in Cary comes to an end after defeating two ITA top-55 ranked opponents along with a 3-2 record in the singles draw.

The Razorbacks continue their fall season next weekend as they travel to Dallas to compete in the SMU Fall Invite from Oct. 4-6.
