No. 3 Arkansas Finishes First Round in Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, PUERTO RICO – The No. 3 Arkansas women’s golf team stands in a tie for ninth with Minnesota out of 15 teams following round one of the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic. Arkansas finished with a 5-over 293 in the first round, one stroke behind a tie for seventh with Auburn and Furman. Kendall Todd is the leader for the Hogs after logging a 1-under 71 to tie for 12th. LSU leads the field after logging a 5-under 283.

Todd stands in a tie for 12th out of 90 golfers, logging three birdies and 13 pars with just two bogeys on the day. With a 1-under 71, Todd is four off the lead, which is 5-under par.

Reagan Zibilski finished the day with an even 72. She was 2-under going into her final hole at No. 1 but came up with a double bogey to end up even on the day. Zibilski logged three birdies, one bogey and double bogey along with 13 pars.

Miriam Ayora’s day was highlighted by a hole-in-one on hole 16. Ayora finished the day with a 2-over 74, which is a tie for 46th. The senior had one of two eagles from the field today, two birdies and nine pars with six bogeys.

Kajal Mistry logged a 4-over 76, sitting in a tie for 59th. Mistry had two birdies and 12 pars, but three bogeys and a triple bogey on hole 14. Maria José Marin had a 5-over 77 after a tough front nine, where she had two bogeys and two double bogeys. She finished the back nine strong with one birdie and eight of her 13 pars on the day.

Competing as an individual, Ela Anacona put up an even 72. She had a strong start with four birdies in the front nine, but also had four bogeys to finish at even. Anacona sits in a tie for 20th on the leaderboard.
