No. 46 Razorbacks Travel to The Magnolia State for Final Regular Season Matches
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 46 Arkansas women’s tennis team (10-11, 3-8) travels to The Magnolia State for the final weekend of the regular season to face Mississippi State (10-14, 0-11) on Friday, April 12, at 3 p.m. and No. 38 Ole Miss (10-9, 4-7) on Sunday, April 14, at 1 p.m.
The Razorbacks dropped their two matches this past weekend, falling to No. 39 LSU and No. 11 Texas A&M to conclude their home slate. In the match against the Tigers, Kelly Keller and Anet Koskel each earned their fifth singles victories of the season at the No. 2 and No. 6 positions, respectively. The Hogs took the doubles point in their match versus the Aggies after wins from Keller and Carolina Gomez Alonso on court three in addition to Lenka Stara and Grace O’Donnell on court two to clinch the point.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 0-2 weekend on the road, dropping their matches to No. 7 Georgia and No. 18 Tennessee. Graduate Alexandra Mikhailuk leads Mississippi State with 10 singles victories while primarily playing at the No. 1 position this spring. The Bulldog lineup also features senior Chloe Cirotte and junior Maria Rizzolo, who have both obtained seven dual wins this year. Junior Alessia Tagliente leads the team with eight doubles wins this season followed by sophomore Dharani Niroshan with seven.
The No. 38 Rebels are 10-9 overall and 4-7 in SEC play after losses to No. 18 Tennessee and No. 7 Georgia last weekend. Ole Miss will host Missouri on Friday before its match against the Hogs on Sunday. The Rebel lineup is headlined by juniors Ludmila Kareisová and Ava Hrastar on courts one and two, respectively. Ole Miss also features sophomore Emma Kette, who is the team leader in singles wins this spring with 11. Junior Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher has grabbed nine victories in doubles play while the Rebels have one ranked pairing in No. 62 Hrastar/Briana Crowley.
