No. 48 Razorbacks Drop Road Match to No. 40 Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 48 Arkansas men’s tennis team (14-8, 1-5) dropped its match to No. 40 Georgia (9-9, 3-4), falling 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs took the early advantage in doubles play with a win on court two, as Colby/Paulsell defeated Connor Smillie/Jake Sweeney, 6-0. Georgia claimed the doubles point after a 6-3 victory from Blaydes/Ratiu over No. 29 Božo Barun/Jared Horwood.

Georgia carried its momentum into singles play, winning each match on the top three courts to secure the victory. At the No. 1 position, Paulsell grabbed a three-set win over Barun, while Melvin Manuel dropped his match after a close finish in the second set. The Bulldogs clinched the match on court two as No. 58 Colby bested Gerard Planelles Ripoll, 7-6 (3), 6-3

The Razorbacks will return to Billingsley Tennis Center next weekend to continue SEC play as they host No. 5 Kentucky on Friday, March 29, and No. 21 Auburn on Sunday, March 31.
