No. 6/9 Razorbacks Earn 7-2 Midweek Win at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – Senior LHP Robyn Herron’s 13-strikeout complete game performance and senior INF Karlie Davison’s 2-2 day that featured a three-run home run lifted the No. 6/9 Arkansas Razorbacks to a 7-2 win over Tulsa at the Collins Family Softball Complex on Wednesday evening.

Herron (13-4) was dominant in her 13th victory of the season. The Tampa, Fla., product fanned 13 batters while yielding just two runs on four hits and no walks in her seven innings of work. She registered her 16th career 10+ strikeout game, which tied Mary Haff (2018-22) for the most in program history.

Karlie Davison highlighted the Arkansas offense with a 2-2 night that featured a three-run shot and a hit-by-pitch. Davison opened the scoring with a three-run blast in the top of the second inning. Atalyia Rijo made it 4-0 in the third inning with an RBI single that drove in Brinli Bain before Arkansas increased its lead to five courtesy of an RBI double from Ella McDowell. Kennedy Miller laced a double to center field with two outs in the top of the second inning before Cam Harrison walked to put two runners on for the Hogs. Karlie Davison then smashed a three-run home run to left field to put Arkansas in front 3-0.

Herron faces the minimum in the bottom of the second while capping the stanza with her third strikeout of the contest.

Brinli Bain led off the top of the third inning with a walk, increasing her reached-base streak to nine games. She would later advance to second on a groundout and third on a wild pitch before scoring on an RBI single from Atalyia Rijo. Kailey Wyckoff followed with a single to right field to move Rijo to third, but Moore would escape the inning with a fielder’s choice.

The Golden Hurricane’s Annika Dill reached on a fielding error to lead off the bottom of the third. Herron would issue a popout before Rijo made an incredible catch in shallow left-center field for the second out of the inning. She then picked up her fifth strikeout of the night to complete the scoreless frame.
