No. 6 Women’s Golf in Middle of Standings at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 6 Arkansas women’s golf team stand in a four-way tie for seventh place at the 12th annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. In round one at Long Cove Club, Arkansas shot an even 284 on a beautiful day on a tough golf course that saw no wind and sunny skies on Monday. The 284 marks the best round for the Hogs at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in their 11th appearance at the event. Maria José Marin paces the Hogs after shooting a 1-under 70 in the first round.

José Marin logged a 1-under 70, which is a six-way tie for 15th and three off a tie for the lead at 4-under 67. She registered three birdies and 13 pars with two bogeys.

Kendall Todd finished Monday at even par with a 71 to sit in a tie for 21st. She got off to a great start with a birdie on her first hole at 10 followed by one at 15 for three on the day. Her three bogeys put her back at even, as she also had 12 pars.

Reagan Zibilski is also in a tie for 21st after logging an even 71. She was bogeyless through her first 12 holes, including one of her three birdies on hole 13. She had three bogeys and 12 pars to finish even.

Miriam Ayora is in a tie for 38th with a 1-over 72. She was 1-under through her back nine but logged three bogeys in the front nine. Ayora had a birdie at hole 7 to round out the day 1-over par.

Ela Anacona is tied for 77th with a 7-over 78. She had trouble at the start on the back nine with a double bogey on the 11th hole and going 5-over on the 17th. She finished strong on the front nine with one birdie, seven pars and just one bogey.

In the tournament field, Arkansas is tied for second in pars with 62 and third in par 4s average with 4.04. The Hogs finished at par or under as a team for the 10th of 15 rounds this season.
