No. 7 Razorbacks Set for NCAA Championship
CARLSBAD, Calif. – The seventh-ranked Arkansas women’s golf team will make its 14th NCAA Championship appearance when it tees off in the first round on Friday afternoon at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
The Hogs’ first tee time is set for 2:45 p.m. CT off No. 10 and they will play alongside No. 8 Wake Forest and No. 9 Duke. With a top-15 ranking, Arkansas received the favorable afternoon-morning starts to rounds one and two, as strong winds off the Pacific Ocean pick up in the afternoon. If the Razorbacks finish inside the top-15 after 36 holes, they will start round three in the morning wave.
Friday Tee Times (CT)
2:45 – Swetha Sathish
2:56 – Abbey Schutte
3:07 – Sara Brentcheneff
3:18 – Reagan Zibilski
3:29 – Maria Jose Marin
The Champ Returns
Arkansas junior golfer Maria Jose Marin returns to La Costa as the reigning NCAA Individual Champion. She won last year’s event at 12-under, the third lowest score to par by an individual champion in NCAA history.
Make it to Match Play
The Hogs will look to advance to match play for the second straight year and the third time overall. Last year, Arkansas finished sixth in stroke play and faced third-place finisher Northwestern in the quarterfinals but lost, 3-2, on a playoff hole. The Wildcats went on to win their first NCAA team title in program history.
Last Time Out
Arkansas finished in third place at the NCAA Louisville Regional last week at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Marin led the way and finished T9 at 4-under, while the team finished 10-under and one shot above the 9-under cut line.
Top 10
Marin has finished inside the top 10 in 10 if 11 events this season. She finished T12 and 1-under at the SEC Championship in April and had it not been for an unfortunate bounce off of a sprinkler head which led to a triple bogey, she likely would’ve finished inside the top 10.
Rankings
Arkansas has ranked inside the top 10 for the entire 2025-26 season, rising as high as No. 4 in February. Entering the NCAA Championship, four Razorbacks rank inside the top 100: Marin (3), Reagan Zibilski (46), Abbey Schutte (49) and Sara Brentcheneff (88). Marin has spent much of her junior season in the top spot. She leads the Razorbacks with a 70.0 stroke average (68.5 adj.) this season and recently became the program’s record holder in career rounds at or below par with 68.
This Season
Arkansas has three tournament wins: The Blessings Collegiate Invitational (-8), the Route 66 Invitational Honoring Dale McNamara (-11) and the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic (-23). The Hogs finished runner-up at The Ally (-21), the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational (+35) and the Clemson Invitational (-16). The Razorbacks have finished inside the top 6 in all but one tournament, a 10th-place finish at the SEC Championship.
Championship History
The Hogs have never won a team national title, but have produced three individual champions: Stacy Lewis (2007), Maria Fassi (2019) and Maria Jose Marin (2025). Arkansas’ best stroke-play finish came in 2019, when it finished fourth at the championship held at Blessings Golf Club, its home course. Since match play was introduced in 2015, the Hogs have advanced twice but have never advanced to the semifinals.
