No. 7 Razorbacks Tame Tide, 3-1

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas soccer (10-2-0, 5-0-0 SEC) put together a stellar three-goal performance, defeating Alabama (7-7-0, 2-3-0 SEC), 3-1, for its 10th straight victory, extending the program’s longest win streak. The program also earned its 100th SEC win.

How it Happened

It took 29 minutes before either team got on the board. Sophomore Ava Tankersley put the Hogs up 1-0 after she tapped it across the six-yard box where it was cleared out for a header from senior Cora Duininck. The ball found forward Kiley Dulaney at the top of the penalty box, where she took it down and crossed it into Tankersley’s right foot for the finish.

The Crimson Tide notched the equalizer in the 36th minute after a corner from Kat Rogers found the head of midfielder Macy Clem at the top of the six-yard box.

The Razorbacks opened the second half firing off two quick goals.

A foul on a Tide player resulted in a free kick, taken by midfielder Emilee Hauser near the midfield line. Hauser connected with defender Bryana Hunter beyond the top of the six-yard box, where Hunter finished it off with a header past the Alabama keeper for the set piece goal.

One minute later, the Hogs stuck again. A throw in from senior Parker Goins on the near side was headed away by a Tide defender, landing above the penalty spot, where Dulaney fired with her right foot. The goal was her first career goal.

The Razorbacks finished the match outshooting the Tide, 17-10. The Hogs have outscored their last eight opponents 37-5.

Hear It From Coach Hale

“It was overall another good performance. There are just so many different players that are stepping up. We will watch video, and there are a few things we need to coach better on, and we will get those cleaned up. The players are giving their all and getting better with each performance.”
