- The Razorbacks most recently beat Tulsa at home by 50, the largest win for the Hogs since 2016, when they beat Houston Baptist by 61 (12/28/16).
- It was also the first 50-point win in the Neighbors’ era at Arkansas. The largest win in the Neighbors’ era prior to Wednesday night came during last season’s WNIT, when the Razorbacks beat UAB, 100-52, in the second round.
- Alexis Tolefree stayed hot against the Golden Hurricane, registering her second straight 20-point game.
- Erynn Barnum played the best game of her young career against Tulsa, registering her first-career double-double (14 points & 12 rebounds).
- A’Tyanna Gaulden also scored a season-high 14 points.
- Sophomore guard Rokia Doumbia was everywhere, grabbing a career-high 12 rebounds while dishing a career-best four assists.
STORYLINES
- No. 21 Arkansas continued its move up the polls this week, moving from 23 to 21 in the AP Poll.
- The Hogs moved from 23 to 20 in this week’s Coaches’ Poll.
- Arkansas has been ranked for the first six weeks of the season, the first time since the fall of 2002 that has happened for the Hogs.
- A large part of Arkansas’ success is predicated on its Functionally Fast offense, which is currently the seventh-best attack in the country (84.9 PPG). The Hogs trail only Oregon, DePaul, Abilene Christian, Mississippi State, Baylor and Maryland.
- An improving defense, and a 50-point win vs. Tulsa on Wednesday, has helped Arkansas secure the 17th-best point differential so far this season (+23.7).
- Though Neighbors’ squads are not usually known for their defense, this team has been stifling in some important areas through the non-conference
part of the 2019-20 schedule. - They are second in the country, and leading the Power-5, in three-point percentage defense. Opponents are shooting just 19.6 from deep agaisnt
the Hogs. - Arkansas didn’t allow Tulsa to make one of their 16 attempts from deep.
- Neighbors’ bunch has been good on the defensive glass this season, too, averaging 31.4 defensive rebounds per game, 13th-best in the country.
