  • The Hogs were led by Chelsea Dungee, who scored a season-high 32 points in the win.
  • Alexis Tolefree was huge once again for the Hogs, going for a season-high 21 points. It was her fourth-career game with 20+ points.
  • Tolefree’s clutch play has been huge for the Hogs the last two games. Of her 21 points against the ‘Cats, 18 of them came in the second half.
  • Seven of them came during the game’s deciding 16-6 run at the end of the third quarter.

STORYLINES

  • No. 21 Arkansas continued its move up the polls this week, moving from 23 to 21 in the AP Poll.
  • The Hogs moved from 23 to 20 in this week’s Coaches’ Poll. ]
  • Arkansas has been ranked for the first six weeks of the season, the first time since the fall of 2002 that has happened for the Hogs.
  • A large part of Arkansas’ success is predicated on its Functionally Fast offense, which is currently the eighth-best attack in the country (84.2 PPG). The Hogs trail only Oregon, Abilene Christian, Mississippi State, DePaul, Baylor, Maryland and Texas Tech.
  • An improving defense has helped Arkansas secure the 23rd-best point differential so far this season (+20.8)
  • The Hogs’ 8-1 start to this season is their best since the 2016-17 campaign, in which they opened 9-1.
  • Coach Neighbors’ 2019 Hogs have been great offensively, and a lot of that has to do with their proficiency in three areas: Three-Point Shooting, Free Throw Shooting, and Lack of Turnovers.
  • Arkansas has gotten a lot of its offense from beyond the arc, where the Hogs have been elite. They are making 9.7 three-balls a game, the 11th-best mark in the NCAA and the fourth most among Power-5 teams.
  • That volume paired with the team’s efficiency from beyond (38.2 percent, 23rd-best in the NCAA) has yielded great results in the early going for the Razorback attack.
  • Neighbors’ bunch has gotten a lot of its offense from the line this season, too, as they are second in the nation, and leading the Power 5, in free throws made (171), trailing only Denver in the category. The Hogs are third in the nation in free throw attempts (236).
  • The Hogs also play an incredibly efficient style, only turning the ball over 10.7 times a game on average. That is the second-best mark in the NCAA, and the best mark among Power-5 Teams.
