Razorback MGolf Heads to SEC Championship

FAYETTEVILLE – For the 23rd straight year, St. Simons Island, Ga., will be the site for the SEC Men’s Golf Championship from April 24-28. For the 21st time, the Championship will be played at Sea Island’s Seaside Course (Par 70 – 7,005 yards).

The first three days (April 24-26) will be stroke play competition where an individual champion will be crowned. The top eight teams after stroke play, will advance to the match play on Saturday (April 27) for the quarterfinals and semifinals. The team champion will be decided on Sunday (April 28). The semifinals will be streamed starting at 3 pm (CT) on SEC Network +. The final on Sunday will be broadcast live on SEC Network, as well as being streamed on SEC Network +/Watch ESPN, starting at 7 am (CT).

Arkansas, ranked 11th nationally, will be seeded sixth in the 14-team field behind #1 Auburn, #2 Vanderbilt, #5 Ole Miss, #7 Tennessee and #9 Alabama.

The Razorbacks are 23-6-0 (.796) versus SEC teams this season including a third-place finish this past fall at the SEC Match Play. Notably, Arkansas is 0-1 vs Auburn, 1-2 versus Vandy, 3-1 vs Ole Miss, 2-1 vs Tennessee and 2-0 vs Alabama.

Overall, Arkansas is 91-20-3 in nine tournaments thanks to two wins and a total of eight top-4 finishes. Arkansas is on pace to shatter the program’s single-season record for scoring average at 282.85. (The current record is 284.40). Also, Jacob Skov Olesen is on pace to be the first Razorback to finish a season with a scoring average below 70. The graduate senior currently has a season scoring average of 69.92 and will break the school record of 70.38, held by Julian Perico (2019-20). Fellow graduate senior John Driscoll III is on pace to finish with the third-best, single-season scoring average at 70.58.

Arkansas won the 2019 SEC Championship and finished runner-up at the next SEC Championship held (2021). The Razorbacks missed the SEC match play, finishing 10th, in each of the last two seasons but advanced through the NCAA Regionals to finish among the top 18 at the NCAA Championship. In fact, Arkansas is 1 of 13 teams to reach the NCAA Championship in each of the last three years and 1 of 9 teams to finish among the NCAA top 20 over the span.
