Razorbacks Continue Fall Season in Dallas at Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Four members of the Arkansas men’s tennis team will continue their fall season this weekend at the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge in Dallas. The event will take place from Friday-Sunday at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
The Razorbacks will be competing against student-athletes from 15 schools including Air Force, BYU, Boise State, California, Harvard, Memphis, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rice, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Tech, Tulsa, and UT Arlington.
The 64-player field features four Hogs as graduate Jared Horwood, senior Jakob Mosvold, junior Jake Sweeney, and freshman Connor Smillie travel to the Lone Star State for the weekend. All four Razorbacks will compete individually in singles play while the doubles teams consist of Horwood/Smillie and Mosvold/Sweeney.
This weekend will mark the second time both duos have played together this fall with Horwood/Smillie being the most recent this past week at the USTA 15K Fayetteville Futures, losing in the opening round of the main draw. Mosvold/Sweeney first took the court together at the beginning of the fall season as the tandem won the doubles championship at the Wichita State 5K Fall UTR.
