Razorbacks Drop Game 2 at No. 3 Georgia
ATHENS, Ga. – No. 20 Arkansas fell to No. 3 Georgia, 8-2, Sunday afternoon at Jack Turner Softball Stadium.
The Razorbacks move to 25-9 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
After clinching a 3-2 win in Saturday’s series opener, Arkansas will look to win their ninth consecutive ranked SEC road series at 6 p.m. CT Monday on SEC Network.
The top of the Razorback lineup combined for Arkansas’ two runs on three hits Sunday. Reagan Johnson chipped in a hit and an RBI after finishing 1-for-4 on the day. Raigan Kramer went 1-for-3 with an RBI after smashing an RBI single to left center in the second. Bri Ellis finished 1-for-3 with a single to left in the first. Arkansas stranded five runners throughout the ballgame.
LHP Hannah Camenzind (8-1) suffered her first loss of the season after giving up six earned runs on 11 hits across 5.1 innings against one of the nation’s top offenses. Camenzind fanned two batters and worked around four walks. Showcasing her athleticism, Camenzind made several crucial fielding plays throughout the ballgame. RHP Nikki McGaffin faced three batters in relief after entering in the sixth with one out. McGaffin retired two of three batters faced after forcing a flyout and groundout.
