Razorbacks Drop Sunday Match at No.15 Kentucky

LEXINGTON – The University of Arkansas volleyball team face No. 15 Kentucky in its home at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington on Sunday afternoon and fell to the ranked Wildcats, 3-0.

THE TURNING POINT

Trailing 2-0 in the match, the Razorbacks jumped out to a 4-2 lead after forcing a Wildcat attack error. Kentucky used a 3-0 scoring run to tie the set at six points apiece, but the Hogs persisted and took back the lead with a kill from Cartwright, 10-9.

Another five-point rally by the Wildcats gave Kentucky a 14-10 lead, but the Hogs used the media break to regroup and with a kill by Wheeler and ace by Cartwright, tied the score at 15-15.

Kentucky responded to Arkansas’ rally and took 10 of the final 14 points to secure the sweep with a 25-19 set three win.

UP NEXT

Arkansas will have another mid-week match in College Station against the Aggies on Wednesday (Nov. 8) before returning home for four-straight matches in Barnhill.
