Razorbacks Fall in Quarterfinals at ITA Regionals
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Arkansas women’s tennis team concluded their run at the ITA Central Region Championships today as Morgan Cross and Indianna Spink dropped their Quarterfinals match of the doubles draw while Spink fell in the Quarterfinals of the singles draw.
Spink’s impressive run came to an end after winning her first three singles matches. Spink went up against top-seeded Anastasiya Komar (Oklahoma State) and won the first set, 6-2. Komar rallied to win the next two sets, taking the match and advancing to the Semifinals. For the tournament, Spink picked up six total victories between singles and doubles play.
The senior duo of Cross and Spink faced off against Nebraska’s Lacasse/Adrover Gallego in the Quarterfinals today. The match was close throughout, but Nebraska’s duo eventually pulled away to take down Cross/Spink, 8-6.
Two Razorbacks are in action this upcoming week as Carolina Gomez Alonso and Anet Koskel compete in the ITF 15K Jackson which runs from October 16-October 22.
