Razorbacks Move Up to Third Place after Round 2 at Puerto Rico Classic
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – No. 2 Arkansas women’s golf (-4) moved up five spots to third place on the Puerto Rico Classic team leaderboard after a 8-under par second round.
The Hogs scored lower than the rest of the loaded field, two shots ahead of first-place Vanderbilt (-11).
All six of Arkansas’ golfers moved up on the individual leaderboard, with senior Kendall Todd making a 20-spot jump up to T15th after a 2-under par day.
Maria José Marin led the Hogs for the second day in a row with a 68, her first score in the 60s this spring and the tied for the lowest score of the round with Ole Miss’ Sophie Linder. The sophomore had a flawless round with four birdies and 14 pars.
Individual Abbey Schutte made an 18-spot jump to T63rd with an even 72, the best round of sophomore year.
Arkansas leads the field on par threes, scoring an average of 2.93, and leads the tournament with 127 pars.
The final round tees off at 5:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning from holes 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3. Schutte will tee off from No. 17 with other individuals.
