Razorbacks No. 16 in national coaches’ poll
NEW ORLEANS – Arkansas ranks No. 16 in the third national coaches’ cross country poll of the season. The Razorbacks will be in race mode this week as they compete on Friday, Sept. 30, in the Chile Pepper Festival.
Race time is 5 p.m. over an 8,000m course at Agri Park, Arkansas’ home facility.

Ranked as the top SEC school in the national poll, the Razorbacks are followed by Alabama at No. 25. Schools receiving votes this week are Tennessee and Ole Miss.
In the NCAA South Central Region, Arkansas remains in the No. 1 position over Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane, and Arkansas State. The Longhorns rank No. 18 in the national poll.
Schools from the South Central Region competing in the Chile Pepper Festival include No. 5 Arkansas State, No. 7 Central Arkansas, No. 12 Louisiana, No. 14 UT Arlington, and No. 15 SFA.
The men’s field also includes Tulsa, who ranks No. 5 nationally and No. 2 in the Midwest Region, along with No. 12 Kansas State and No. 15 Oklahoma from that region.
In addition to Tulsa and Arkansas being nationally ranked among Division I programs, Chile Pepper Festival schools who have been nationally ranked in other divisions this season include Missouri Southern, Mississippi College, and Nebraska-Kearney in Division II and Oklahoma City in NAIA.
Junior college teams who have been nationally ranked this season include Iowa Central, Hutchinson, Garden City and Ranger.
