Razorbacks Open NCAA Tournament Action on Friday

The Arkansas men’s tennis team begins NCAA postseason play on Friday as the Hogs are set to take on the Cornell Big Red in the tournament’s opening round.

The No. 38 Razorbacks (16-14) are making their second NCAA Tournament appearance in three seasons, and second under head coach Jay Udwadia. Friday’s match will be a repeat of the Hogs’ last in NCAA play, as they also played the Big Red in the first round in 2024, where Cornell defeated Arkansas in straight sets.

The No. 29 Big Red bring an 18-3 record into the tournament and recently clinched an Ivy League title. Arkansas has a 1-1 all-time record against Cornell, its lone win coming in the 2019 regular season, 4-3.

The first round match is set for 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1 in Fort Worth, Texas, part of the regional hosted by No. 2 TCU. The winner of the match will go on to play the winner of TCU (21-5) and Denver (18-5), whose first round dual is on Friday evening. The regional final will be played on Saturday, May 2 at 4 p.m.

Arkansas has made 22 total team appearances in the NCAA tournament dating back to 1979 with a 13-21 overall record. The Hogs last made it to the second round in 2016.

Live streaming and stats are both available via TCU, and links are also listed on the men’s tennis schedule page.
