Razorbacks Ready for NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE – Sixth-ranked Arkansas will play in its 27th NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., with stroke play set for May 29-June 1 and match play to follow June 2-3.

The Razorbacks will have a practice round on Thursday at 8:30 am (PT). The Hogs’ first round will start Friday at 12:12 pm (CT) off hole #1 and their second round will start Saturday at 6:52 am (PT) off hole #10.

There will be limited live stream coverage for rounds 1-3 at the NCAA Championship through GOLFChannel.com through a partnership with BabyGrande.com. More in-depth coverage with live TV broadcast on GOLF Channel will begin for round 4 as well as the match play sessions.

The 30-team NCAA Championship field, as well as the six qualifying individuals, will play three rounds of stroke play. After the third round, the field will be cut to 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on an advancing team for one final round of stroke play. After the fourth round, an individual champion will be crowned and the top eight teams will advance to match play to determine the team national champion.

For Arkansas in 2025-26:

  • is ranked 6th, which is the program’s highest ranking entering the Championships.
  • was 1 of 17 team from the nation’s top 20 to advance to the Championships.
  • was 1 of 12 SEC teams to reach the field of 30 for the Championships – the SEC has 7 of the top 10 seeds.
  • posted an overall record of 117-25-3 (.823), including a 34-14-2 (690) mark versus the Championships field.
    • is 28-12-2 (.571) vs current top 25 teams and was 71-25-3 (.732) versus the 81 team that played in a Regional.
    • faced 24 of the 30 teams in the 2026 Championships and 14 of the 28 conference champions from 2026.
  • won three times, the most since 2011-12 (7).
  • had a winning percentage of .823, the best since 2011-12 (.885).
    • posted a stroke average of 280.28, the best by nearly three strokes over the current UA record (282.97 in 2023-24).
  • Erich Fortlage set a school season record with 25 rounds at par or better.
  • Fortlage and Gerardo Gomez have 13 rounds in the 60s and are tied for third on the school’s season list, with the record being 16 by Jacob Skov Olesen (2023-24).
  • Fortlage ranks third on the school’s season stroke average list at 70.51 and Gomez ranks fourth 70.60.
  • Fortlage ranks third on the school’s career stroke average list at 71.60, Gomez ranks fourth (71.69), John Dally II ranks sixth (71.87) and Thomas Curry ranks 10th (72.16).

The Razorbacks advanced to the 2026 NCAA Championships thanks to a third-place finish at the Corvallis regional.

Arkansas was the runner-up at the 2009 NCAA Championship. That team was T-3rd after stroke play and beat Washington and Georgia before falling, 3-2, to Texas A&M in the match play championship. The Razorbacks have an NCAA individual champion as R.H. Sikes won the 1963 title. Then freshman Mason Overstreet was the NCAA individual runner-up in 2017. Arkansas has not reached match play since 2009, but reached the final 15 in 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2022.
