Razorbacks remain No. 1 heading into NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas remains ranked No. 1 nationally for the third consecutive week as the collegiate season concludes with the NCAA Championships from June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Alabama moved into the No. 2 position following the NCAA First Rounds while Florida, USC, and Texas A&M make up the top five schools. The top 10 also includes Texas Tech, Texas, Houston, LSU, and Nebraska.

The Razorbacks have 13 entries for the NCAA Championships led by its world-leading 4 x 400m relay (2:59.03) and includes a pair of 2024 NCAA Indoor champions in Romaine Beckford (7-3.75 | 2.23 high jump) and Wayne Pinnock (27-0.75w | 8.25 long jump).

Texas leads with 17 entries followed by Florida with 14. USC joins Arkansas with 13 entries while LSU and Texas Tech follow with 12 each.

The Razorbacks have a trio of events with a pair of entries – 400m, 110m hurdles, 10,000m, and decathlon.

Jack Turner (7,935) and Yariel Soto Torrado (7,834) rank fourth and fifth in the decathlon. James Benson II ranks sixth in the 400 (44.85).

Lance Lang advanced in three events – 100m, 200m, and the 4 x 400m relay – and ranks seventh in both sprint events with a 9.97w and 19.99w.

Defending NCAA champion in the 110m hurdles, Phillip Lemonious ranks eighth with a season best of 13.38. Patrick Kiprop ranks eighth in the 10,000m (28:14.77).
