Razorbacks Take Down Tulsa, Improve to 11-1

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks men’s tennis team rolled past the Golden Hurricane on Wednesday night, 4-1. Arkansas (11-1) took control over Tulsa (4-3) early in the match, winning their eighth straight at home.

The Hogs claimed the doubles point for the eleventh time this season and led 1-0 after doubles play. Tulsa took the first match, as Daniel Siddall and Timothy Seger won on court three, but Arkansas quickly responded on court two with a 6-4 victory from juniors Alan Sau Franco and Stefanos Savva. In the No. 1 spot, juniors Adrien Burdet and Melvin Manuel overcame an early 1-4 deficit to defeat No. 51 Pearson/Di Marco, 7-6 (3). The tandem of Burdet/Manuel remains perfect at 4-0 this dual season.

The Razorbacks collected three straight-set wins in singles play, securing their sixth consecutive victory. No. 58 Kody Pearson took the only singles point for the Golden Hurricane, defeating Savva 6-2, 6-1. Burdet answered with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 performance in the No. 3 spot over Callum Gale. Freshman Gerard Planelles Ripoll earned his tenth victory this dual season, defeating Siddall 6-4, 6-1. Freshman Benedikt Emesz clinched the final point for Arkansas, taking a 6-4, 6-2 win on court four.

The Razorbacks are at home again on Sunday, Feb. 26 at Billingsley Tennis Center for a doubleheader against Omaha at 10 a.m. CT and 4 p.m. CT.
