Razorbacks To Compete For Regional Doubles Title

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Arkansas women’s tennis duo of Yuliya Lysa and Shannon Hudson downed Oklahoma State’s Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari, 8-6 in the semifinals of the doubles draw at the ITA Central Regional Championship Sunday.

The No. 11-ranked Razorback tandem will compete for the doubles championship and a bid into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 6-9 in Flushing Meadows, New York. Match time is slated for 10 a.m.

In the singles quarterfinals, Lysa fought hard but was held off by Tulsa’s Saana Saarteinen, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6.

“I’m very proud of the way Yuliya competed today especially toward the end of a long tournament,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “We look forward to competing tomorrow for a regional title.”
