Razorbacks Wrap Up Play at Seminole Intercollegiate
THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Arkansas shot 862 (+22) over 54 holes and tied for 11th at the Seminole Intercollegiate, played at the par 70 Glen Arven Country Club.
The teams were scheduled for 36 holes on Monday but three teams were not able to finish due to darkness. The Razorbacks were in 14th after round one but shot a 3-under 277 in round two and moved up to ninth. Arkansas finished with a 289 in the final round to finish tied for 11th (862 / +22).
Host and 15th-ranked Florida State won with a 54-hole score of 817 (-23). Troy was runner-up (829) while Augusta and North Alabama tied for third (834).
Manuel Lozada led the Razorbacks and placed 22nd with a three-round total of 212 (+2). He opened with a 73 and carded five birdies in round two for a 1-under 69. In the final round, Lozada offset four bogeys with four birdies to shoot an even par 70 and moved up three spots to finish 22nd.
John Daly II and Pablo Garcia Terol (playing as an individual) tied for 34th. Daly had a 69 in round two and finished with a 2-over 72. Garcia Terol, who shot 71 in round two, tied Daly with a 72 on Tuesday as the two were +5 (215) for the event.
Thomas Curry tied for 45th (217), Gerardo Gomez tied for 58th (219) and Erich Fortlage tied for 75th (225).
Arkansas returns to action later this month at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, played Mar. 24-25 in Palm City, Fla. at Floridian National Golf Club.
