Reco Named to All-SEC First Team
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback senior Alex Reco has been named First-Team All-SEC by the league’s coaches. The Nantes, France, native is the first Hog to be honored as a First-Team member since Jose Salazar in 2018.
Reco played in the top singles and doubles position for Arkansas for the entirety of the 2022 season. He compiled a 10-11 singles record, earning five of those wins over ranked opponents, including straight-set wins over No. 28 Nikola Slavic of Ole Miss and No. 31 Florian Broska of Mississippi State, both fellow First-Team members.
Reco closed the season on a four-match singles winning streak and was leading in each of his singles matches in the SEC Tournament when the match was halted.
In the latest ITA National Rankings, Reco sits at No. 27 in the country in singles, while him and Razorback senior Nico Rousset are ranked No. 54 in doubles.
The First-Team All-SEC is comprised of a combination of ITA rankings and coaches’ votes. The top-ranked doubles team and the top eight ranked singles players (not parts of the top doubles team) are automatically named, and the two remaining spots are filled based on votes from coaches.
Arkansas finds out its postseason fate on Monday, May 2, when the NCAA Tournament Selection Show takes place. The show will be streamed on NCAA.com with the men’s field set to be announced at 5 p.m. CT.
