
Reina sets career best in fast 1,500m at Arkansas Twilight
FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback Reuben Reina produced a career best of 3:36.48 for third place in the 1,500m as the Arkansas Twilight meet record and John McDonnell facility record were bettered by Oklahoma State’s Fouad Messaoudi with a winning time of 3:34.34.
In chasing the world standard of 3:33.00 for the 2025 World Championships, Messaoudi became the No. 10 performer on the all-time collegiate list. He broke the 1988 facility record of 3:35.84 set by Razorback Joe Falcon, and topped the meet record of 3:39.07 Messaoudi set in 2022.
Reina moves to No. 7 on the UA all-time list with his performance as he bettered his previous best of 3:38.83 set at the Bryan Clay Invitational a few weeks earlier.
Razorback victories at the Twilight included Henry Kiner in the triple jump, TJ Tomlyanovich in the 400m, and Grant Williams in the 400m hurdles.
Kiner had a windy mark of 51-2.25 (15.90) to claim the triple jump. Tomlyanovich won the 400m in a meet record of 45.58 with teammate Jonah Vigil runner-up in a PR of 45.90. Tomlyanovich bettered the meet record of 45.62 set in 2022 by Marqueze Washington.
Vigil later finished third in the 200m with another career best of 20.64 as professional Matthew Boling won the race in a meet record 20.33.
Williams posted a 52.43 win the 400m hurdles ahead of teammate Joel Burris, runner-up in a career best of 52.53.
Arkansas alum Elijah Morris won the 110m hurdles in 13.59 with fellow alum Tai Brown second in 13.62 while Razorback Brevin Sims finished third in 13.91.
Tevijon Williams set a career best 10.20 as runner-up in the 100m and is now equal No. 10 on the UA all-time list. Sebastian Berntsen finished second in the long jump with a sixth round leap of 24-11.25w (7.60).
