COACH TAYLOR ON ABBEY
“Abbey comes from a rich tradition of golf, as her dad was a NCAA National Champion (Warren Schutte was the 1991 NCAA Champion Individual Medalist), as well as a member of the PGA tour. The apple did not fall far from the tree with regards to her golf talent and her love for the game. Abbey is an amazing young woman that encompasses all that we look for in the recruiting process. She loves to win, she has great length, her golf IQ grows every year with experience and she will bring a light to our team that will be contagious.
“Abbey’s commitment story is a must tell to shed light on who she is. She is a bit of a magician and pulled a magic card trick on me to tell me she wanted to be a Razorback. I pulled my card from the deck, placed it back in, she shuffled them up and went through her process to identify my card. Next thing I know, she hands me the Joker card, and on that card, it said, ‘I can’t wait to be a Razorback.’ This story tells a lot about Abbey’s personality, and it will be fun to have her grow and impact our goals on and off the golf course.”
