Senior (2005): Blaire Perry started the first eight games of the 2005 season for the Lady Razorbacks before an arm injury led to a medical redshirt. Perry returned to the Lady’Backs with a year of eligibility remaining.
Junior (2004): Blaire Perry contributed to the Lady Razorbacks at third base, then in the pitching circle after breaking her hand March 20th against Florida. The co-captain started the first 25 games at the hot corner before the injury. At the plate, Perry hit .268 with 22 hits in 82 at-bats including 19 runs, four RBI, a double and two triples. Her 13 stolen bases tied her for the most on the team. Perry (1-2) started three games for Arkansas on the mound striking out 20 batters in 34.1 innings of action. Against Mississippi, April 14, Perry dominated the Rebels by throwing a one-hitter with four strikeouts in the eight-inning victory.
Sophomore (2003): Perry was a regular in the lineup, starting 59 of the 60 games for Arkansas. She started 51 games at second and eight on the mound while batting second in the lineup for most of the year. Perry hit at a .286 clip with 46 hits, 21 runs scored and 15 sacrifice hits. Her ten stolen bases in 15 attempts led the team. Using her glove, she led the team with 115 assists and registered 112 putouts for a .950 fielding percentage. In the circle, her 3-3 record included 55.1 innings, 37 strikeouts and a 4.05 ERA.
Freshman (2002): Perry stepped into the fire as a true freshman in the Southeastern Conference. The starting second baseman from the first pitch, Perry played shortstop the final three weeks of the season. Perry hit a Lady’Backs’ season-best .310 in her first year with a running slap style that baffled many defenses. The speedy Perry swiped a team-best 20 bases as well as leading the team with 67 hits. Perry was injured in her final season of high school ball and did not pitch for Arkansas as a freshman.
Prior to Arkansas: As a pitcher for Prairie High in Vancouver, Wash., Perry tossed 423 innings in 46 games striking out 502 and posting a 0.63 earned run average. As a hitter, Perry batted .349 with 12 RBI and 44 hits her junior season helping the Falcons to a 20-5 record. The starting shortstop as a freshman, Perry earned all-league honorable mention. She moved to the mound her sophomore year, earning firstteam all-league honors. The Falcons collected the state championship title Perry’s junior year, as she became the school’s first 20-game winner. Personal: Born March 11, 1983, Blaire Elise Perry is the oldest of three children to Dale and Karen Woodward. Perry has a younger sister, Brooke, and a younger brother, Beau, and is majoring in elementary education. Perry married Caleb Perry, a former offensive lineman for the Razorback football team, Nov. 30, 2003.
